Mo-Variants 7.7.0 BETA 7

This is a complete re-write of the pack made to improve stability, touch up versions still commonly used, and add a bunch of features.

Beta 7 includes re-porting to 1.20.2, re-addition of the icologer, re-addition of true random spawning, and bug fixes!

Updates Since Beta 6:

  • Started porting to 1.20.2

Additions Since Beta 6:

  • Re-added the Iceologer Variant [1.20.2]

Changes Since Beta 6:

  • Init v8 [1.20.2]
  • Re-added True Random variant spawning [1.20.2]
    • True Random spawning makes use of the /random command & Macros added in 1.20.2.
    • If you prefer the old functionality, you can configure it on a per variant basis upon release of Beta 8!

Fixes Since Beta 6:

  • Fixed the illusioner mob cap not working [1.20-1.20.1]
  • Optimized Bossbar code(reduce lag by a multiplier of mobs in world)
  • Fixed Charred Skeletons spawning in two block tall spaces just to suffocate in a wall.
  • Fixed Bogged Backport not spawning in mangrove swamps.
  • Fixed a config section being incorrectly labeled as "advanced".

Mo-Variants 7.7.0 BETA 6

This is a complete re-write of the pack made to improve stability, touch up versions still commonly used, and add a bunch of features.

Beta 6 includes lots of QOL, fixes, & backend upgrades to help speed up development.

THIS IS A BETA!!! NOT ALL THINGS ARE 100% DONE, AND DOES NOT FOLLOW OUR TYPICAL UPDATE CYCLE!!!

Additions Since Beta 5:

  • Spawn Rates correction

Changes Since Beta 5:

  • Backend changes to the Init file(no init version upgrade)
  • Config improvements
    • Boss variants cannot have an increased spawn amount, and as such the config pages reflect this finalized decision.
  • Loot Changes
    • Arch Demon
      • Arch Demon Head is now a loot table
      • Demon's Trident is now a loot table
    • Possessed Blade
      • Possessed Blade Drop has been renamed to Tamed Blade & moved to a loot table.
        • The item was renamed as by killing the possessed blade, you are in essence, taming it.
    • Overhauled the drops from the forgotten miner. These drops will be further upgraded in a future update.
    • Undead Barbarian now uses a loot table
      • Battle axe is now a loot table
      • The azalea drop now uses a predicate to prevent dropping in Endless City
    • Lost Soul's "Ghost's Hood" is now a loot table
    • Overhaul Void Sentinel's Loot Table
      • Also fixed it.
  • Every Variant now has the "mo-var.variant" tag for developers to use.
  • Upgraded "Half Zombie" design(new custom made player head)

Fixes Since Beta 5:

  • Config Style Fixes
  • Fix Identifier Advancement not working with the RRC Parent.
  • Fix some variants spawning all the time.
  • Fix Lost Soul Effects
  • Fix some armor drop chances not being set to 0 since their loot drops were replaced.
    • Also removed a lot of redundent code from variant files.
  • Fix some loot tables not rolling at all
  • Fix mossy spider console spam with "generic.scale" attribute
  • Fix Toxic Skeleton not being styled
  • Fix Pharaoh Boss Bar

Removals Since Beta 5:

  • Split out "ambient" variants into a new pack called "Mo-Critters".(coming as soon as modrinth approves it)

This is a complete re-write of the pack made to improve stability, touch up versions still commonly used, and add a bunch of features. Beta 5 includes many changes, improvements, and fixes. THIS IS A BETA!!! NOT ALL THINGS ARE 100% DONE, AND DOES NOT FOLLOW OUR TYPICAL UPDATE CYCLE!!!

Changes Since Beta 4:

  • Config Changes
    • Added info about each variant to Manual Spawning Pages.
    • Updated Spawn Rate config(it was left out of Beta 4).
      • This contains a new standard backend to help eliminate dev error when updating default values.
        • This standard will be given to the rest of the config in the next beta.
  • Init v7
    • Reverted Possessed Blades spawning as a pair
  • Added a new uninstall option:
    • You can now remove ALL data related to Mo-Variants, even if that data is used by other RRC packs/mods.
    • This option is only recommended if Mo-Variants is the only RRC pack you have installed. Otherwise simply choose "Just Mo-Variants".
  • Variant Loot With every variant getting it's own loot table reference, we decided to improve our variant drops. Bear in mind this is only a beta, and not all planned changes are possible in this MC version. More changes will come in Beta 6.
    • Babyper now drops anything a vanilla creeper would drop.
    • Bogged now has a backported vanilla loot table & fixed drop chances from variant spawning.
    • Void Sentinel now has normal phantom drops & void wings are now loot table based.
    • Festive Variants now drop the drops of their vanilla counterpart.
    • Krampus Boss loot has been overhauled.
  • Balancing
    • Babyper now has 8 health(balancing backport)
    • Void Sentinel now has 50 health (balancing backport)
    • Lost Soul now has 20 health (balancing backport)
  • Toxic Skeleton now uses nausea arrows(due to bogged).
  • Krampus Boss can now join raids.

Fixes Since Beta 4:

  • Fixed Custom Spawn Rates being reset to default on version upgrade
    • This standard will be given to the rest of the config in the next beta(see config changes above).
  • Fix Babyper not being invisible.
  • Fix kill advancements not loading at all.
  • Fix Possessed Blade not being invisible.
  • Fix Bogged Backport not spawning at all.
  • Fix Pharaoh Bossbar.
  • Fix many config issues.

KNOWN ISSUES IN BETA 5:

  • All config except spawn rates will reset to default values on version update.
    • This was fixed in an update prior to the betas, however with everything being remade from the ground up, this functionality was held off to be done in a better way.

Beta 4 includes Holiday 2024 QOL, more config improvements, minor changes, and a few bug fixes.

    • Added 4 new holiday variants
      • Festive Drowned

    • Modernized the holiday content to fit our latest standards.

Changes Since Beta 3:

  • Config Changes
    • Add Ender Category
      • Additional Ender Variants coming sometime after v8.0.0.
    • Add Netherborne Category
      • Additional Netherborne Variants coming sometime after Ender Variants.
    • Added "Reset to Default" Buttons to each individual mob cap.
    • Updated Spawn Amount "Reset to Default" buttons to standard, and added one for each page.
  • Init V6
  • Possessed Blades now spawn as a pair.

Fixes Since Beta 3:

  • Fixed a few bugs & typos when navigating the config.
  • Fix Bosses & Holiday Mobs not being pruned... because... they aren't rabbits... how did we do that?!
  • Fix mob cap score correction being broken due to invalid commands. I was tired okay?
  • Fix more old code causing issues

  • Updated the identifier advancements to latest form.

  • Finished Mobcap Score Correction.
  • Changed the void sentinel to use a predicate for spawning in the end.
  • Demon and Arch Demon now use predicates to only spawn in the nether.
  • Config Changes:
    • Added the advanced menu to clear up the main page a little.

Additions Since Beta 1:

  • Added data correction to further idiot proof the pack.
    • Currently only includes scores for Mob Caps.

Changes Since Beta 1:

  • Config Changes
    • Added [Reset To Default] buttons to Spawn Rates, Spawn Amounts, & Mob Caps.
    • Added "Advanced" warning for spawn amounts on Main Menu.
    • Clean up Tellraws to get rid of redundant info.

Fixes Since Beta 1:

  • Fix most ticking commands not working(i love being idot).
  • Fixed an issue where Frozombies weren't getting the data they needed.
  • Fixed an isssue where firefly's default mob cap was too high.
  • Fix some cases of "Iceologer" still apearing as an active variant in config.
  • Fix a case of the illusioner being displayed "frozombie" in the toggle spawning config
  • Fix the bogged spawning everywhere.
  • Fix the new "kill" advancements(maybe).
  • Fix startup not working at all.
  • Fix typo in "Load" message.

Removals Since Beta 1:

  • The giant is now planned to be removed in 1.20-1.20.4.

Mo-Variants 7.7.0 BETA 1

This is a complete re-write of the pack made to improve stability, touch up versions still commonly used, and add a bunch of features.

Beta 1 includes 1.20-1.20.1, & also brings features into this previously depricated version.

THIS IS A BETA!!! NOT ALL THINGS ARE 100% DONE, AND DOES NOT FOLLOW OUR TYPICAL UPDATE CYCLE!!!

Additions:

  • Add a couple new advancements
    • 1 Find, a few Slay.
  • Add Mob caps for all variants
    • Bosses have a cap of 20
    • IKORRs have a cap of 100
    • IKOs have a cap of 250
    • Butterflies have a cap of 500
    • Fireflies have a cap of 750
    • All other variants have a cap of 1,000
  • Config Additions:
    • Spawn Amounts
      • Control how many variants spawn when a group spawns.
      • Variants that already spawn in groups now use this config.
    • Mob Caps - ADVANCED
      • Configure the mob cap, up to an upper limit. Use at your own risk, these are only intended for large servers.
    • Visual Config - ADVANCED
      • Enable or disable visual elements, only reccomended for advanced users.
      • Currently only contains bossbar toggles, suggested by a discord member.
  • New Variants:
    • Added Bogged Backport
      • Works like one of our variants, unlike the vanilla bogged.

Changes:

  • Now Mo-Variants Init V4
  • Gameplay Advancements now use the mo-var namespace.
    • This may reset your progress, but allows us to keep gameplay and technical advancements separate.
    • We also plan on adding more advancements soon! Look out for future updates!
  • Config 2.0
    • New configurations listed above.
    • Overhauled all existing configurations.
    • Overhauled all existing pages to be standardized with a slightly better format.
      • All new pages comply with this standard.
    • Listed all known bug fixes with config 2.0 below. some unknown bugs may have been unknowingly fixed.
    • This took a lot of time, so if you appreciate it, please consider donating to Bowswa! It helps fuel the development of these packs!

Fixes

  • Backport as much as possible
    • Add missing features that can be added from 1.20.2+ to 1.20-1.20.1
  • Fix invisible Variants being bugged in 1.20/1.20.1
  • Fix Normal Variant toggle all also toggling the IKO
  • Fix startup messages not being visible

Removals

  • Removed the giant from 1.20/1.20.1
  • Removed the Iceologer from 1.20/1.20.1
  • Removed 1.21 support from this version.
    • 1.21 will be re-released as 8.0.0 with the new content from here.
  • Stop removing "old stuff" in all versions.
  • Remove 1.21 EX features from 1.20.5/6
  • TEMPORARILY REMOVED SUPPORT FOR 1.20.2+
    • For this reason we have marked this version as a beta, and futher MC updates will be released in patches as quick as possible.

  • Fixed Baby Creepers not spawning
  • Slightly slowed the Demon Trident attack speed to better match that of the normal Trident
  • Increased Drop rates for both the Pharaoh and Arch Demon's Heads and Weapons.
