About this pack:
Village of Pigs is a resource pack that changes the appearance of villagers & villager-related mobs, items, and effects. There is no sound replacement in this pack. The new models were created using Blockbench, and the textures were created/edited using Procreate, Aseprite, and Blockbench as well.
There are two separate versions of this resource pack in this page, one of which is Optifine and EMF (Entity Model Features) compatible, and one that is compatible with Dorianpb's CEM mod. Support is prioritized for Optifine and EMF.
About compatibility:
Finally, this resource pack now supports mods, and the following mods have been implemented:
- VillagersPlus
- More Villagers
- Mo' Villagers
- Chef's Delight
- Friends and Foes*
- Tidbits
- The King of the Villagers
*(I can't change the Iceologer, and their Illusioner texture gets overridden.)
I do not claim ownership over the textures edited from these mods for compatibility.
I currently CANNOT reliably support mods that use alternative models for mobs, such as Guard Villagers, and like, all illager mods, due to technical limitations outside of my control.
About these pigs:
I created this resource pack out of a desire to remove villagers from the game, but to then replace them with something that still felt vanilla to me. Along the way, I came up with a little bit of lore for these guys, although it's really just for fun.
The new pigmen creatures featured in this pack are called Boarlins! They evolved from Overworld-Resistant Piglins, and developed fatter bodies covered with a short, thick layer of fur to help them survive in cooler temperatures.
Boarlin villagers are a peaceful people who have found ways to coexist with the environment of the Overworld in ways that they could no longer achieve in the Nether. However, not all Boarlins have settled in to such a quiet life. Boarlin Illagers see the villager's way of life as far too soft compared to their shared ancestor's, and express this by shaving their fur, growing out their tusks, and displaying gold wherever they can. They view the Overworld as a dimension to be conquered, and the villagers as part of that vast enemy.
